The Club was founded in 1947 and comprised of hosiery knitters from within the works, playing friendly cricket until 1953 when it joined the Mansfield and District League. In 1972 the club celebrated it's Silver Anniversary by winning the Championship Knock-Out Cup and Mansfield Hospital Cup. In 1984, after 30 years of successes within the Mansfield and District League, the Club joined the Bassetlaw League. 2001 saw the Club move from Kings Mill to its brand-new multi-purpose location at the Fieldings.
2004 proved to be the most memorable season in the Clubs history, as we secured promotion into the Nottinghamshire Premier League by becoming champions of the Bassetlaw League, runners up both in the Harry Tomlins Trophy and Champion of Champions, promotion for the second team and Sunday knock out cup winners. 2005 season saw Mansfield Hosiery Mills stay in the Nottinghamshire Premier League, plus the 2nd and 3rd team being promoted in the season of 2006. 2007 saw our U15's reach the finals of the Portman Cup - a magnificent achievement.
Off the field - in 2004 we were identified as a Focus Club and awarded Clubmark accreditation, plus in 2005 two external artificial-surface nets were added to the list of facilities that Mansfield Hosiery Mills provides to the community. We are also very proud of our reputation for social activities, including a strong social membership and a committment to an annual designated charity which has raised hundreds of pounds for various good causes.
We field senior sides in The Nottinghamshire Premier League, The Bassetlaw & District League and The Mansfield & District League.
Our junior section operates teams for Kwik Cricket, U.11, U.13 (11 aside), U.13 (8 aside), U.15 and U.17 in various leagues.
We have a very strong Junior Section and - thanks to our growing band of highly committed coaches - provide coaching at all levels. Recent successes from our Junior ranks have been selections for England U15 representative honours and numerous County selections (both male and female).
We are further expanding our coaching, and are adding LTAD (Long Term Athletic Development) training to our many courses. (see the notices as they are posted for further details).
Our club is held in high regard in local cricket and this was further endorsed in 2007 when our chairman, Malcolm Daniels, was elected President of the Bassetlaw League, an honour of which he is justifiably proud and which he dedicates to all the club's hard-working volunteers.
The Club supports a different charity each year and for 2008 we have selected SCOPE, the disability organisation in England and Wales whose focus is people with Cerebral Palsy, so please drop any spare change in the collection bucket on the bar. All monies received go directly to the charity.
Past beneficiaries include:-
