Mansfield Hosiery Mills Cricket Club was established in 1947, it is based in Sutton-in-Ashfield and is one of the leading cricket clubs in Nottinghamshire. We are a Focus Club and accredited by Sport England under their Clubmark scheme. Mansfield Hosiery Mills prides itself in being a family club with an excellent family atmosphere. We offer an opportunity for all cricketers, both boys and girls of all abilities to learn, enjoy and develop their own cricketing skills.
Mansfield Hosiery Mills Cricket Club provides a number of qualified coaches, which includes current/ex professional cricketers and County Coaches. At the very junior level the club introduces youngsters to the basics of the game through its Kwik Cricket Programme. This is great fun and their enjoyment is clear to everyone who watches these games.
As the child grows and develops they can participate in one of the Club’s many junior sides at U11, U12, U13 and U15. The Club has an excellent reputation locally and in the wider county for nurturing and developing cricket talent with many of our juniors playing for the local district, county and regional representative sides.
The junior programme is an ideal stepping-stone to progress into one of the Club’s four senior sides. These play respectively in the Nottinghamshire Premier League and Bassetlaw Division 2, 5 and 7. In addition we have one senior side that plays on Sundays in the Mansfield and District League.
Typically, on any Saturday during the season, 50% of those playing in the senior sides will be aged under 21 with a fair proportion still participating in the junior programme.
Mansfield Hosiery Mills has modern purpose built facilities which include a two net fully equipped indoor training room, outdoor nets, a club room and a function room. Outdoor nets and the cricket ground are secure and located within an established housing estate. Cricket is popular with our many neighbours who regularly watch our home games during the season.
